Obviously, TESN loves the sport of curling. And there is nothing more fun than getting together some friends and traveling to a bonspiel to test your skills, We are going to be a big part of the Curling: The Gathering Bonspiel this April in Rochester, NY and here are some reasons for you to get involved as well... 1) Curling: The Gathering is a Different Kind of BonspielThis bonspiel tests both your curling skill with elements of card game chance and strategy. It's curling, but with a twist! You bid using funny money on "power up" cards that either help your chances to win or hinder your opponents chances of winning. For example, you can bid on the "Golden Hammer", a 9th stone you can use once during an end. Imagine if you had two chances with your hammer!! 2) You don't need to be a curling god to win Curling: The GatheringBecause you can play your "power up" cards at the most opportune times, you can spring a card on your opponent when they least expect it. Your ability to strategize if as much a factor of winning as your curling skill. 3) Curling: the Gathering is for charity!!!Curling: The Gathering proceeds will benefit the Urban League of Rochester. The mission of the Urban League of Rochester, NY is to enable African-Americans, Latinos, the poor and other disadvantaged to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power and civil rights. 4) Curling: The Gathering is the perfect end of year bonspiel or a great way to start your arena club season)Just when you think you've had enough curling for the season... Curling: The Gathering comes around! It's a great way to celebrate a fun season, test out a new team, or just party!! If you are on arena ice with a summer start, Curling: The Gathering is a great way to kick off your season! 5) Curling: The Gathering will be streamed on TESN!Our Western New York affiliate will be streaming two sheets all weekend! You can be a curling star to the curling masses on the internet! 6) Do you like Poutine???The current plan is to have a Poutine Food Truck cater the Saturday dinner! Who doesn't love cheesy fries?
