TESN.US Supporting 1st Mixed Team USA at Worlds

June 29, 2015

Team USA (AKA Team Clark) is competing in the first ever Mixed World Curling Championships in Bern, Switzerland from September 12 - 19, 2015 and TESN.US is announcing our support as a sponsor at the $1,000 level.

In April 2015 Team Clark won USA Curling’s Mixed National Championship. The team is comprised of skip - Brady Clark, third - Cristin Clark, second - Sean Beighton, and lead - Jillian Walker.  The team has collectively won 33 national titles.

We couldn’t be more excited to sponsor such a deserving team.  Over the past few years, we’ve gotten to know the team members and there is not a more talented, competitive, and fiery team out there.  They will make USA Curling proud as the first ever Mixed Team USA.

As much as we’d like to support all the expenses of the team, unfortunately we cannot.  There is a gofundme campaign in the works to support Team USA on their journey.  Please join the team by donating today!

Press Releases mentioning TESN

2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jan. 30, 2012
2012 USA Curling National Championships begin Feb. 11 in Philadelphia
(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – IceWorks Skating Complex and the Philadelphia Sports Congress are set to host 21 of the top U.S. curling teams as the 2012 USA Curling National Championships get underway Feb. 11.
This is the first time that the Nationals have been hosted in the Philadelphia area and first time since 2007 that the event is being hosted on the east coast. The 10 women’s and 11 men’s teams will compete in a round robin with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.
Webstreaming throughout the event will be featured courtesy of USA Curling’s involvement with the 12th End Sports Network (http://12thendsportsnetwork.weebly.com/index.html), which is owned and produced by Rochester, N.Y., curlers Joe Calabrese and Brian Anderson. One sheet will be streamed throughout the round robin and playoffs. A complete game schedule will be announced soon. Live scoring and a stats package also will be incorporated into the coverage courtesy of Gerry Geurts of CurlingZone (www.curlingzone.com).
“TESN is proud to work with USA Curling to present the 2012 National Championships,” Calabrese said. “Webstreaming brings access to the top level of the sport in the U.S. to everyone. It’s great for the sport and for TESN, where our goal is to bring webstreaming technology to curling clubs all over the U.S. and beyond.”
“Joe and Brian at 12th End have provided USA Curling with an exceptional opportunity to greatly expand the amount of web streaming coverage of the National Championships. This could not be done without their knowledge of curling and production support, and the additional support of the U.S. Olympic Committee,” said Rick Patzke, chief operating officer for USA Curling. “One of our primary goals for web streaming of events is to achieve a consistently professional standard of production and delivery. We are excited about the possibilities presented by 12th End, and will be eager to evaluate the results and future potential after the championships.”
The opening ceremonies will take place at 2:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 11. Members of USA’s first Youth Olympic Games team will throw out the ceremonial first rock. Team members include YOG bronze medalist (mixed doubles) Korey Dropkin (Southborough, Mass.), Tom Howell (Brick, N.J.) and Philadelphia‐area curlers Sarah and Taylor Anderson (Broomall, Pa.). Local professional and college mascots also will be on hand for the opening ceremony and throughout the week. Entertainment in the Fan Zone throughout the event includes bands, Wii curling, Learn to Curl events, and more.
The first round of curling action gets underway at 4:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 11 following the opening ceremonies. The Erika Brown rink earned the women’s No. 1 seed while the Tyler George rink is the top men’s seed. The defending champions are the Pete Fenson and Patti Lank rinks.
This is the first opportunity for teams to qualify for the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will take place Nov. 11‐16, 2013, in Fargo, N.D. The top two men’s and women’s team from the 2012 Nationals earn direct berths. In addition, the winning teams from the 2012 Nationals earn the privilege to represent the U.S. at the 2012 World Championships. The 2012 Ford World Women’s Championship will
take place March 17‐25 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The 2012 World Men’s Championship will be staged in Basel, Switzerland, March 31‐April 8.
To request media accreditation for the event, please go to http://2012usacurlingnationals.com/ and look under the “News and Press” section. A complete competition schedule also is located at the link above.
The men’s field features 11 teams this year instead of the traditional 10 due to Pete Fenson’s selection to represent the U.S. in the Americas Challenge against Brazil to determine which side would earn the second Americas berth in the 2012 Men’s Worlds. However, the Brazilians backed out in early January so the U.S. earns the automatic slot into the world championship this season. This year’s field features 10 skips who have previously won the event and 15 Olympians (1998‐2010). Here is a look at the competing teams in the 2012 National Championships:
